“Issues” concern features of the US K-12 educational system that impede later preparation for technical careers. Further, there is either no clear way to fix the problem, or there are several ways, none of which have general support.
Please comment
We actively seek guidance from the collective wisdom of the community. If a “solution” emerges we will celebrate it and incorporate it in the materials. Generally we do not expect tidy solutions, but we do hope for suggestions for compromise or ideas to try.
- When posting a comment please indicate your context (e.g. Educator grades 9-12, Educator upper-level math major, etc.). It is likely that people in different contexts will have different perspectives and it is important that we able to report this.
- Members are also invited to propose new Issues.
Focus Issue
We particularly invite comments on the current Focus Issue. Formulation of the issue may evolve in response to comments; active participants will be notified in this event. If clear alternatives emerge we may try to poll the wider community for reactions.
